I started an apprenticeship at 17. By 20, I was qualified as a Boilermaker. I spent years building systems, fixing what was broken, and making things work under pressure.
Eventually, I moved into mining operations - managing teams, coordinating shutdowns, running processes where mistakes cost serious money. I learned what good operations look like. I also saw what chaos looks like.
The same problems showed up everywhere: scattered information, broken processes, teams working too hard for too little output. I started learning about AI and automation - not as flashy tech, but as tools to fix what was actually broken. I taught myself to build solutions that solved real problems, not just add more software.
At 28, I started Coastal Programs from Margaret River. Now I help businesses across Australia and internationally do what I learned in operations: fix the broken processes first, then build systems that actually work.
